about

Lexi stewart

owner, yes and yoga

Lexi Stewart is a teachers teacher, and forever student of yoga, nestled in the midwest. With a university education in Psychology, she has a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, thought patterns, and how to control and release control of the body and mind. This knowledge informs her approach to teaching, practicing, and navigating modern life as we know it.

Over the years, Lexi has explored yoga asana, Ayurveda, and yoga philosophy, while practicing intensively. Acknowledging her perspective as a twenty-something, white, American woman engaging with yoga, she quickly sought to understand how to honor the origins of these ancient practices and teach with integrity.

Recognizing that yoga can be interpreted in many different ways, Lexi founded Yes And Yoga to provide researched, organized, and accessible resources for teachers. Her mission is to bridge ancient wisdom with modern science and life.

yes and yoga

The world of yoga is vast and layered — full of history, philosophy, and interpretations that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Often times when leading training, I found myself answering yes or no questions with a provisional 'yes, and…'  followed by a wide variety of conditions that could manipulate the end result — a gentle reminder that while one perspective may be true, there is always more depth to explore. (When it comes to yoga and to the experience of life).

Out of this desire to bring clarity and cohesion to the many topics often touched on in western yoga, I created Yes And Yoga. A brand that symbolizes ancient practices meeting modern life — a place for students and teachers to learn, reflect, and grow their relationship with yoga  - L
